ABOUT MORPHEUS8 RF MICRONEEDLING
Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment that penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, tighten loose skin, and reduce the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and stretch marks.
To ensure optimal results and minimize any risks, please follow these pre- and post-care instructions carefully.
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
To prepare for your Morpheus8 treatment, follow these guidelines:
2-4 Weeks Before Treatment
• Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2-4 weeks. Sunburned or tanned skin increases the risk of complications.
• Discontinue retinoids, retinol, glycolic acid, and other exfoliating agents at least 7-10 days before treatment.
• If you have a history of cold sores or herpes, start antiviral medication (e.g., Valtrex) 2 days before treatment to prevent outbreaks.
• Avoid facial fillers, Botox, or other injectables for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
48 Hours Before Treatment
• Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, or other blood-thinning medications unless prescribed by your doctor, as these can increase bruising.
• Hydrate well by drinking plenty of water to support skin healing.
Day of Treatment
• Come with a clean face (no makeup, lotions, or sunscreen).
• Wear comfortable clothing if treating areas other than the face.
• Eat a light meal before your appointment to prevent lightheadedness.
• Avoid caffeine and alcohol on the day of treatment.
POST-TREATMENT CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Immediately After Treatment
• Your skin will appear red, swollen, and feel warm, similar to a mild sunburn. This is normal and typically resolves within 24-72 hours.
• Tiny pinpoint scabs may form as part of the healing process. Do not pick or scratch these areas.
• You may experience mild tenderness, tightness, or itching, which will subside over time.
First 24-48 Hours
• Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching it unnecessarily.
• Do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours.
• Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and excessive sweating.
• Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and lukewarm water to wash your face. Pat dry—do not rub.
• Apply a hydrating, post-procedure moisturizer (e.g., Aquaphor, Cicaplast, or hyaluronic acid serum) as directed.
• Use only mineral-based sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks.
Days 3-7 (Healing Phase)
• Redness and swelling should continue to subside. Some patients experience mild peeling or flaking—this is normal.
• Continue hydrating the skin and wearing SPF daily.
• Do not use exfoliants, retinoids, or strong skincare products until cleared by your provider.
• If discomfort persists, you may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed.
Weeks 1-4 (Long-Term Care)
• Avoid direct sun exposure and always wear SPF to maintain results.
• Resume regular skincare (including retinol and exfoliants) only after 2 weeks or as advised.
• Collagen production continues for up to 3 months, with full results appearing over time.
